I’m Yuri, a senior software engineer. Away from the keyboard, I build cars and go drifting. I’m based in Curitiba, Brazil, and HeuPerformance is where I share that side of my life.
I’ve been with First Foundry since 2016. It’s a software development studio and research incubator building products across gaming, fintech, and logistics. My work spans backend, mobile, SDKs, and infrastructure. At Rave, I’m responsible for the product’s technical operation. Through First Foundry, I also worked with Amazon Game Studios, contributing to purchasing and offer-redemption experiences associated with New World, Lost Ark, and Prime Gaming, and leading our contractor team. I also built Bloom POS’s backend foundation and its integration with METRC, Oregon’s cannabis tracking system.
Programming started with wanting to change a game: at thirteen, I was modifying and hosting a private RuneScape server. Later, I programmed industrial production lines with PLCs. Watching my code move an actual machine was a pretty good reason to keep going. I still play RuneScape occasionally.
For over a year, I’ve been exploring AI through hands-on experiments, testing new models and tools as they emerge. I’m also a husband and dad. Music has always been a part of my life. I enjoy playing a few instruments, mostly self-taught. My singing career remains strictly a shower affair.
When something catches my interest, I want to understand how it works. Sometimes that means studying a new tool. Sometimes it means taking something apart. And sometimes a simple question gets an answer with fifteen seasons of backstory.
